Celebrated author and artist Douglas Coupland will speak to the age of city building in a lunchtime keynote address at The Cities Summit. 

Since 1991 Vancouverite Douglas Coupland has written thirteen novels published in most languages. He has written on visual art for the New York Times, ArtForum, the New Republic, and the Smithsonian. Coupland began a visual arts practice in 2000 that fuses art with design, industrial design, and text. Since 2001 he has written several non-fiction books exploring Canadian and Vancouver identity in both words and visual work.
