Startup Cities: Deploying Clean Technology at Scale

Cities are the world’s largest user of resources. They are also the world’s crucibles of innovation. What more can be done by cities to unlock the power of their procurement to support clean technology startups? How can cities facilitate the demonstration projects that are necessary to prove early-stage ideas in clean technology, green buildings, and new transportation models? Options include early-stage trials, partnerships with international corporations, and assistance in developing startup networks.
